We’re here to support you in building confidence, independence and meaningful connections in everyday community life.

We can support you to:

  • Spend time with friends and family, and build social skills.  
  • Attend local events or festivals, go the movies and go shopping independently 
  • Join a class, volunteer, or take part in sport and group activities

What is Social & Community Participation?

Social and Community Participation is an NDIS-funded support designed to help people with disability build confidence, develop life skills and become more involved in their local community. Whether it’s attending community events, learning new skills, catching up with friends or trying new activities, the goal is to support participants to live a more independent and fulfilling life.

At ADSS, we believe meaningful community participation looks different for everyone. That’s why our supports are tailored to each participant’s interests, goals and aspirations. From building confidence in everyday situations to developing lasting social connections, we’re here to help you participate in your community in a way that feels comfortable and rewarding.

Who is Eligible for Social & Community Participation?

Social and Community Participation is available to eligible NDIS participants whose plan includes funding for community access or related supports. If your goals involve increasing independence, building social skills, participating in recreational activities or becoming more connected with your local community, this support may be available to you.

If you’re unsure whether your NDIS plan includes Social and Community Participation funding, the ADSS team can help you understand your plan and explain the supports available.
